 *Need to Re-Grip your Clubs before you head south?

When is the last time you got your clubs re-gripped? If your grips are more than 1 year old, they may need to be changed. Weather and use wears out our grips. If you keep your clubs in the trunk of your car, they are exposed to severe temperature changes, which can cause the grips to get slippery, and brittle. If you can see indentations from your thumbs or fingers, its time to change your grips. The grip is one of the most valuable pieces of your equipment; after all it is what you hold onto when swinging the golf club. We have grips in the golf shop for you to choose from. If you would like a special kind of grip we can order from a company that has a 24hour shipping service. Clubs can be dropped off and re-gripped for next day pick up. Many golfers feel like they have a new set of clubs once they have had the service done. If you play often (more than one-two times a week) you should re-grip at least once a year. Re-gripping is available in the Golf Shop. 

Pro Tip:   How to practice your putting:

In Putting you need to get two things right- the speed ( distance) and the direction. Here is a way to develop the proper speed on your putt. Mark off six, fifteen, and thirty foot putts on the practice green. Assume your address position with your feet perpendicular to the line you want the ball to start on, and position the ball in the middle of your feet. Starting with the thirty footer, make a practice stroke and notice the length of your backswing. Next, spread your distance by moving your right foot back to the point where your backswing ended. Now adjust your front foot so the ball is still in the middle of your stance. Stroke the putt by taking the putter back to your back foot (big toe) and through to your front foot the same distance on the follow through.

Do this for the three distances until you develop a feel for how much backswing you need for each length of putt, then practice putting toe to toe, focusing only on producing just distance.
